Tradition Transformed
Built on Generations of Horsemanship.
Mary Aronson—known to friends and family as Cathy—has lived in Wilton, California her entire life. Her parents, Fred and Patricia Anderson, moved to Wilton in the early 1960s, where they built the family’s home ranch and raised five children. As the youngest of the Andersons, Cathy grew up surrounded by horses and a strong sense of family tradition.
Carrying that tradition forward, Cathy built her own ranch next door to where she was raised. Today, her property spans more than 300 acres and includes five arenas (two indoor and three outdoor), five training barns with a total of 60 stalls, 25 acres of irrigated horse pasture, and over 100 acres of alfalfa.
Both of Cathy’s parents were active in the hunter jumper world, introducing her to riding at a young age. Horses quickly became a lifelong passion—she spent her early years showing hunter jumpers, later found interest in cutting horses, and today enjoys being involved with reined cow horses.
That love of horses continues through her daughter, Katie Nordquist, an accomplished Grand Prix jumper who competes throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States. Katie operates her own division, KM Performance Horses, dedicated to the development of top-level sport horses.
Today, Cathy’s Wilton ranch is home to a diverse group of equestrians in the disciplines of sport horses, dressage, hunter jumpers, and reined cow horses. With approximately 60 horses on the property at any given time, the ranch reflects a legacy of dedication, care, and commitment to quality horsemanship that spans generations.
